The international edition of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping," a multilingual television program produced by China Media Group, debuted in Russia on Wednesday, coinciding with Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the country to participate in the 80th anniversary celebrations commemorating the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The launch event in Moscow drew over 200 attendees from both China and Russia. Among those present were Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China Media Group; Oleg Dobrodeev, CEO of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company; and Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova.

Shen remarked that this was the fourth time the program has been introduced in Russia, highlighting that the new edition not only utilizes traditional anecdotes to illustrate Xi's exceptional governance philosophy and significant humanistic values but also presents fresh content focused on ecological protection, talent development, and family values and education.

Dobrodeev noted that previous seasons of the Russian version of "The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping" have garnered impressive viewership ratings and widespread enthusiasm throughout Russian society.

He added that the launch of the international edition would allow Russian audiences to gain a richer understanding of China’s cultural legacy and experience the wisdom inherent in Chinese civilization.

Lyubimova emphasized that the program reflects Xi's deep insights on cultural inheritance and the learning that occurs between civilizations. She described it as a pivotal moment for enhancing the cultural exchange and media collaboration between China and Russia, injecting new media-driven energy into their enduring friendship.

In a video message delivered during the event, Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui highlighted a series of cultural initiatives launched as part of a broader exchange event on Wednesday. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would enhance the Russian people's understanding of traditional Chinese culture and contemporary China, leading to strengthened ties and lasting friendship between the two nations.

The program is currently available on various Russian media platforms, including VGTRK, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, and Gazprom Media.
